Do you’ll do short course racing
Yes we do. Typically have short courses trucks show up for all of our programs, but mostly on Wednesday night and on Flat Track Fridays.
Do ya’ll have a race day for nitro cars?
Yes we do. Nitro’s run on Saturdays!
Will there be a MONSTER MADNESS this year? And if so, is it possible to have more than one? OR, adding that category in on Saturday racing???????…….
OK here’s a few crazy fun out of the box ideas … and sorry in advance for long post.
–Team Grand Prix. Two drivers, one car–12-min race (30 for nitro) Driver swaps like every three min (5min for nitro or on fuel stop) on a sound of a horn. Grand prix portion means all 1/1o electric is together on the track! Madness and probably some mayhem. (Same for nitro buggy and truggy together) But you’re still only racing those in your “division.”
–Oh and how about a father/son/daughter/mother race? The team drivers have to be parent/child with a swap half way through. (Child under 18-yrs of age.)
–You all ever do a opposite direction race? (run entire day in opposite direction of normal track flow.)
–Or a marshal your own car. (this one can be a little dangerous with folks running on and off the track. And for safety I’d have them drive from the pit box and not in the drivers’ stand.)
–lastly, Bring a New Person … rule #1 you bring someone new out for a race and show them how to marshal, drive and work on your vehicle. Introduce them to everyone at the beginning, give them a grand tour of the hobby store–maybe the store does a special that day only for new enthusiasts who want to return and race with their own new car. We have to have new blood in this wonderful hobby of ours to keep it going.
Anyways, I’m sure some of these ideas are totally bonkers, but I thought I’d brain storm and toss some idea seeing if anyone else has an idea. Don’t get me wrong i love the good old racing we do, but can’t hurt to have a little more fun every now and then and try to help cultivate and grow this hobby a little more.
Oh another one–I think some of us (yes tossing my name out there) should volunteer to help be a race director for a day. There are some great folks who make these races happen every week and maybe we should get a taste of what they have to go through to keep things going and the real work it takes to have to heard us around like a bunch of cats sometimes. LOL
OK… enough from me …
Some great ideas Drew, we like the “Grand Prix” and the “Race Director for a Day” ones the best.
People don’t like the “marshal your own car” idea, but we do. It would solve a lot of the problems tracks experience. Racer’s would slow down and drive a lot cleaner that’s for sure!
I like the Team Grand Prix Idea. I say lets schedule a date to get together and discuss if there is any interest. A good Pub/eatery would be a great place together……Anyone interested?
any idea about what races will be held in 2015?
Bill and Robbie are going to get together in the next couple of weeks and hammer out next years schedule.
Any particular races or events you guys would like to see?
Bring all the yearly events back. Aside from that I dunno what could be added. Maybe a crawler race?
So it’s almost October. Is there racing on Saturday? Pretty please?
Yep, Saturday racing resumes this weekend (the 4th) with the Doc Said So Series
What time? Summer hours still?
the doc said so thread says noon start time. ill be there eary to make sure I get signed up and a little track time.
Why is Saturday racing being suspended. Will it start up again? Just wondering because weekends are the only time I can. Thanks.
Hi Matt, you can find the answer to your question on the Race Track News and Blog page (http://rchqonline.com/?p=1740). We are going to get Saturday racing started back up on the first weekend of October; just updated the calendar.
if i understand correctly on : oct 4 rnd 1 because doc said so series
nov 1 rnd 2,nov 15 rnd 3,nov 29 rnd 4
dec 6th rnd 5 /finals
all other saturdays will be no racing/ just practice?
Hi Albert, the Doc Said So Series is tentative at this point, we’re not sure if we’re going to run it or not.
Will there be no more Saturday racing after Battle of the Buggies?
Battle of the Buggies has been canceled and there is no racing that day (Sept 6). We have 3 more Hot Summer Nights races and then we’re taking a break from Saturday racing.
